The Challenge

TaxNob RAH was initially hosted on another cloud provider but faced scalability and cost management challenges as TaxNob RAH gained traction. TaxNob RAH needed a more scalable solution that could grow as the business grew while remaining cost-effective. Additionally, TaxNob RAH required guidance on how to best leverage AWS services to their full potential for TaxNob RAH’s current workload.

The Solution

Silicon Overdrive recommended migrating to Amazon Web Services (AWS) due to its scalability and cost benefits. Additional benefits that Silicon Overdrive were able to leverage to assist TaxNob RAH included AWS Activate Credits, which provided free usage for a period.

The migration involved deploying a simple two-tier architecture, separating the client presentation layer from the server business logic and data storage layer. This architecture enhanced maintainability and performance by enabling efficient management and fast communication between the client and the database.

While simple, this architecture adheres to security and AWS best practices as TaxNob RAH deals with sensitive financial data and requires the environment to be as secure as possible.

The Outcome

The migration to AWS provided TaxNob RAH with a scalable and cost-effective solution, allowing them to handle increased demand without compromising performance.

The AWS Activate credits significantly reduced operational costs, making the transition even more economical.

The two-tier architecture improved the maintainability and efficiency of their web-based tax solution, enabling them to deliver better services to their customers.

Thanks to the excellent collaboration between TaxNob RAH and Silicon Overdrive, the deployment was completed in under three weeks. Best practice configurations, conformity checks, and training were conducted to ensure a smooth transition.
